It was early morning and Madison had started screaming, waking up a very angry Taylor.
"Mummy, why do I have to share a room with her? She always wakes up really early and always wakes me up too!!"
"She can't help it, Taylor, she's only little! And you know we have nowhere else to put her bed." Taylor huffed and stomped off to the shower. It was 6.30, if Madison hadn't woken her up she'd be getting up in half an hour anyway, so what was the point of going back to sleep?
______
Jackson returned from work early that day. Madison was playing by the door with her dinosaur toy, and he scooped her up and spun her around.
"Daddy got a promotion today, pumpkin. That means he'll be able to buy you lots of nice presents!" Madison giggled at the attention, she was too young to understand but she liked being spun round. "Where's your mummy? Is she in the garden?"
______
The family had just eaten dinner, Taylor was doing her homework and Lisa was washing the dishes and getting everything ready for the girls, and herself, to go to bed.
There was a knock on the door and Jackson answered it. Trisha. She walked in, without being invited.
"Um... Come in then..." Jackson was a little stunned by both the unexpected visit, and the pushy attitude. He closed the door and noticed Trisha was looking at Madison.
"She got her present then." She stated her question. Jackson looked at her, she was still staring at Madison. It was almost as if she was trying to remove her with her mind. He quickly moved over to the child and picked her up.
"So, you're the mystery gift giver?" He didn't really need to ask, but he couldn't quite believe it. He hadn't seen her since Taylor was Madisons' age, and Madison was still an embryo. "What are you doing here, Trisha? Do you want something from me?" She didn't get a chance to answer.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" Jackson was shocked. He'd never seen Lisa so angry, and as far as he was aware, she had no idea who this woman was. He hadn't kept any pictures of Trisha after the break up, and Lisa very rarely left the house, and would have told him if she'd met somebody.
"I thought I'd come and see if little Madi liked her toy." She sneered at Lisa, she was clearly trying to wind her up, to see what she'd do.
"GET. OUT! I don't want you anywhere near my children!" Jackson came out of his trance, and put Madison on the floor by the back door so he could go help his wife.
"Ok, I'm going. But you can't protect them forever." She quickly left before Jackson could get near her.
"Honey, what's wrong?" Jackson tried to hug his wife to calm her down. She pulled away and struggled to hold back tears.
"Are you serious, Jack? She's even wearing orange! I didn't expect you to recognise her, you weren't there, but seriously?! How can you forget what the fortune teller told us?" Jackson couldn't have been more confused. The fortune teller? That was 10 years ago. Had she held onto that for this long?
"What do you mean I wouldn't recognise her?"
"That's her, Jack. That's the witch who cursed me." She couldn't hold the tears back anymore. She turned away and spotted Madison still sitting by the back door. She half-ran to her, scooped her up and took her to her bedroom.
"Mummy won't let that evil woman anywhere near you ever again, baby." Madison gurgled in delight, she had no idea what had just happened, who had just been here, or what it all meant. Lisa kissed her forehead and looked to Taylor. She moved over and tucked her in before heading to her own bed.
Jackson came in not long after. He tried to talk to her but she pretended she was asleep. It was obvious she wasn't, but she didn't want to talk about it.
ARGH! Ignore Jacksons random change of clothes for the second to last picture, he had his birthday halfway through shooting the scene, and because he'd had a promotion earlier that day, he wouldn't even have had the same clothes for his uniform! And I thought Lisa had the inappropriate trait...
Short and sweet, sorry.

OMG! Trish was the witch with the manicure!
ReplyDeleteWow, how is Lisa going to react when Jackson tells her she was his high school sweetheart? If he tells her...
And the doll was a 'gift' from her, that can't be good...I would kill it with fire myself.
>:) hehehee
DeleteAs for Jackson telling Lisa, he has to, obviously, but I've not wrote that yet and I'm still 6 chapters ahead. A lot more stuff happens first (and I'd forgotton about it until I proof-read this..)
The doll. Ew. They didn't kill it with fire, but it obviously isn't around anymore. I think it's mentioned in the next chapter.
Whoops! I spot trouble in paradise coming up! Love that it's Trisha who cursed Lisa! I never would have guessed!
ReplyDeleteHehe, I was really surprised nobody guessed, to me it was obvious, but then I realised that I made the story up, so it would be obvious to me... ;)
DeleteTrisha has a bigger part to play from now on...
whoa...Trisha's an ex AND the witch? can't protect them forever? What's that sposed to mean, lady! O.o
ReplyDeleteWow! What nerve Trisha has! It can't be that she wants revenge against Jackson. She's the one who broke up with him. Unless it wasn't because of another guy that she was breaking up with him and he wouldn't let her explain. Even so, she's the one who is responsible for their breakup. He even offered to return rather than staying in Sunset Valley. She has no right to try to ruin his life!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that she went so far as changing Lisa and now threatening their children. If this is the kind of person that she is it's good that Jackson did break up with her.
