2:14 Firsts and Friends

It wasn't long before Madison was big enough to sit up on her own and start crawling around.

She adored her big sister, who loved playing peek-a-boo with her when she got the chance, but soon Lisa came and took the toddler away to bed, so Taylor joined her father on the sofa infront of the TV.

"...the scientists are saying there will be no ill side effects from the spill, but residents have started to notice small changes..." the news reporter was standing near the local science facility. There was 'police line, do not cross' tape weaved around the fences, and 'caution, hazardous material' signs plastered over the gates.

Taylor took great interest in this.
"What happened, daddy?"
"I don't know, honey, nobody seems too." He wondered how much he should tell his daughter, was she old enough to hear this? She may have to deal with the concequences of the scientists actions at some point anyway. He decided to tell her a watered-down version. "The night Madison was born, do you remember it?"
"Course I do, daddy! She was born in the kitchen and I was playing in here with bunny..."
"Yes. Well, when mummy had you, she went to the hospital. That's what we wanted to do that night, but because of the accident all the beds were full because a lot of people got hurt." Taylor looked thoughtful.
"That was years ago. What's going to happen, daddy?" The news reporter was interviewing a man in a lab coat, presumably a scientist at the facility, he was denying there was anything to worry about.
"I don't know, sweetie." Jackson sighed. "You'd better go to bed though, you start school tomorrow." She looked at her father, he clearly wasn't going to tell her anything else, and she was getting tired. She leaned over and kissed his cheek before heading off to her bed.

Madison was still awake, so she gave her a quick kiss too. She was more tired than she realised, as she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow, dreaming about her dinosaur toy coming to life because of a spill at the science facility.

She was nervous the next morning. Lisa had made her pancakes for breakfast and she played with them, not really hungry.

She heard she school bus honk outside, and flew to the front door.
"Taylor. I don't know if you should fly while you're at school..." Lisa began
"I know, mummy, I shouldn't show off infront of the other kids or they'll be jealous. You've told me this a hundred times." Lisa smiled at her daughter, she hadn't wanted to worry her with the prospect of bullies at such a young age, and hoped that none of the other children would tease her about her wings.

The bus was empty. The Mattell household was the first one on the list. Taylor secretly hoped that the next person to get on would be Summer, so that she could sit next to a cool high-schooler on the way to her first day at school.

_____

Madison had recieved an odd toy in the post a few days ago, Jackson had bought it inside just to show Lisa, but Madison had instantly fallen in love with it, and her parents didn't have the heart to throw it out, despite its odd arrival.

Taylors first day at school flew by. She didn't make any friends, but nobody bullied her and she had spoken to a girl in her class once or twice. Summer came by that evening to help her with her first homework.

"Thankyou!" Taylor hugged the older girl. "Can I show you something?"
"Sure!"

"Look up there"

"KAPOW!"
"You little..." Summer wafted her hand through the air to disperse the cloud of fairy dust the child had thrown in her face. Taylor stood back on the floor and grinned. "You're so cheeky." Summer laughed.

"Do you want to stay for dinner, Summer?" Lisa called from the stove.
"Ooh, yes please, aunty Lisa!"
"Ok, Taylor, time to wash up and get ready for bed" Taylor pouted, she and Madison had eaten earlier, but she wanted to stay up with the adults and feel grown up. "Go on." Lisa warned. Taylor sighed and went off to the bedroom.

Jackson was in there, trying to read Madison to sleep. She had that creepy doll sat at her feet, its odd anntenna seemed to be glowing. Taylor was sure it was just the way the light was hitting it, and climbed into bed.

Lisa served up the mac and cheese, and set the bowls on the bar. Jackson and Summer joined her and they began to talk about the news. Summer was oddly quiet, and so Lisa decided to mention the unmentionable.
"Is everything ok, Summer? Is Chris still hanging around?" Jackson stared at his food, hoping Lisa hadn't over stepped the mark. Summer stayed silent and shoveled the remainder of her dinner down. She quickly got up.
"I have to go now. Thanks for dinner."

She almost ran out the door, without another word.

I swear, Lisa is eating the same as the others, I don't know why it's lighter!!

I think Summer has the 'grumpy' trait. Jackson and Lisa were having a conversation at dinner and she actually did sit there in silence shovelling her food down...

By the way, the weird picture with pink/purple/black patterns all over it by the back sliding doors? That's the ModTheSims 2012 calendar!! Haha, they got it as a wedding present, and I'm assuming the game auto-CAST it LOLLL.

  1. Uh-oh! An Imaginary friend! Hopefully it's not as creepy as the ones in my game all end up being. HA!

    1. I hate imaginary friends! They really are creepy, and annoying that even though nobody else can see them, they still route-fail when they're infront of something.

No, Taylor didn't get bullied. I don't think Lisa realises how many supernaturals are out there now. She doesn't leave the house really and although her family is almost all supes, she doesn't know except for her mother who is almost always in werewolf form when she come over. She doesn't know about the vampires.

  2. lol, I didn't notice the different colored mac-n-cheese until you said something. Maybe she sprinkled some extra cheese or bread crumbs over hers.

    1. Summer does have grumpy trait. I checked. It's really hard to get her to come over because she's always in a mood haha.

I didn't realise how cute fairy babies were. Love their idles :)

Taylor is such a cutie, I'm glad that she's not getting bullied.

The accident at the Science Lab is a bit worrying!

    1. The science lab accident is worrying, but nothing *too* bad should happen. Not in our eyes anyway, in their eyes the world as they know it will end and it will seem confusing and scary :)

  5. Haha, looks like Taylor is getting used to her fairy abilities. I love the color of Madison's wings.

Zombie apocalypse at the science facility?

  6. That doll sort of worries me and the fact that it had glowing antenna.

I hope that Taylor makes friends, and I have the feeling that she wouldn't let anyone bully her! She isn't ashamed of her powers or scared of them. That's probably because she was a fairy from birth, and it's all she's known.
