After saying goodbye to her twins, and leaving them in the capable hands of Shaena, Kaity boarded her flight for Starlight Shores. She'd never left Sunset Valley in her life, and although she'd miss her daughters for the three-night trip, she was glad to get out and see somewhere new.

Alex had seemed fine with Shaena staying a few nights away from him. At first, Kaity found it odd, but later decided this was more proof that he was cheating on her friend. She hoped to convince Shaena to leave him and move in with her when she returned, but for now she attempted to push all that to the back of her mind as the taxi driver slowed to a stop outside a grand hotel. She'd arrived.

 She lingered in the hot late afternoon sun. There was still snow on the ground back home, and she doubted anyone would want to wear a coat here.

The receptionist had hair even more noticable than her own, and she spent much of their short conversation wondering whether it was dyed or if she'd had some kind of accident like she had. She did make out enough of what she was saying to know that her room wouldn't be ready for a few hours, and that everyone else attending the conferance was in the bar next door mingling.

She stepped into the bar, and stopped a moment to contemplate. There were three women dancing and getting to know each other on the huge dancefloor, and some men sitting at the tables, by the looks of things they were watching the women like vultures, and betting on who could score. She decided not to be watched like prey, she prefered to be the predator in these situations, and so crossed the large room for the bar immediately.
Maybe she'd feel more like getting to know people after a few drinks.

Remembering what had happened the last time she'd drank cocktails, she went for a beer instead. At least she was certain of the alcohol content, although she doubted she'd get in a fight with Alex at the other end of the country.
She was already bored, and hoped she could have some fun. Why had she agreed to come to a conferance? Sitting there listening to someone talk was not something she enjoyed, and she had three days of this.

 Suddenly, a man knocked into her arm, swiftly followed by a cold hand on her shoulder blade.
"Hey, I'm sorry, I tripped. Are you ok- hey! You're Kaity Mattell, aren't you?" the man next to her questioned. Her mouth fell open a little in awe, damn he was hot! Her eyes raked his body, lingering on his pale skin, almost blue or purple, but marked like her own. "Sorry, I must have the wrong person." he stated after a long pause.
"S-sorry, no, yeah, I am" she stuttered, embarrassed by her momentary trance.
"Phew!" The man smiled, "That could have gotten embarrassing!" He extended his hand in greeting "Winter Snow, pleasure to meet you." She shook the offered hand and nervously sipped her drink. Why was she nervous? Ordinarily she was a smooth-talking sexual predator. What was it about him that changed her? He ordered himself a drink, and turned back to her once again. "Did you have a good flight?"
"Yes, it was fine, thanks. I've never been on a plane before." Why had she added that last part? He wouldn't care about that. "Have you come far?"
"Bridgeport." He replied, taking his drink from the bartender and handing some coins over. "Keep the change." She watched as he turned and looked around the room for a moment.

 "Wanna get a booth?" He asked, gesturing towards the row of booths. Kaity nodded her reply, and the pair chose a booth, taking their drinks with them.
"So." She began. Wanting to get over her nervousness. "If you're from Bridgeport, how have you heard of me? I thought I was only known in the valleys."
"I worked a placement in Sunset Valley last year, I read the papers."
"Oh yeah? What do you do for a living then?"
"I do several things." He chuckled to himself "The one that bought me to Sunset Valley... Well, I was there about that science facility disaster, do you know about it?"

 "I know it happened, but it was long before I was born. My mother was just a child." She hoped she didn't look stupid. The science facility disaster had been a major event, sure it was something she should have kept on top of, as she lived just ten minutes walk from the disaster site, but she didn't really care about that stuff.
"Well, we were there looking into what happened, whether it was really an accident, and why it caused the weather worldwide. It was only a small explosion, and the amount of radiation needed to make major climatic changes worldwide should have wiped out the entire population of Sunset Valley, and mutated the genes as far as Riverview."

"So, you're like a weatherman spy?" Winter laughed at her comment.
"I guess you could say that. What do you do?"
"I run a tiny shop, where I offer psychic readings, but nobody really wants them, and look after my twin girls." Why did she bring up her children? Talking about your kids is not a way to get someone to sleep with you. Maybe she missed them already.
"You have kids?" Winter seemed shocked. Damn. She had put him off.

"Yes," She sighed, sure this conversation was now nothing but a show. "It was a stupid mistake when I was too young. But they're my responsibility, and I love them."
"I wasn't judging you." Winter said quickly, realising how his question had sounded, and noticing how deflated Kaity suddenly seemed. "I just hadn't seen them mentioned in the papers, and, well..." He hesistated over his next comment. "Well, your body doesn't look like you've carried children." Kaity laughed at his ridiculous line.
"Well, you haven't seen me naked." She grinned with a twinkle in her eye, and she could sense Winter's heartrate rise. That was new. "But thank you, I worked hard to lose the weight I put on, but the stretch marks can't be sweated off at the gym. Do you have any children? A wife?" Ok, so she was making herself very obvious now, but she could feel something between them.

She ran the tips of her shoes gently up and down his leg as he replied.
"No, and no."

 Daniel and Jack have the exact same everyday wear! (I don't have the right CC or SPs or whatever) So I sat them at the same table in similar poses, but they didn't really make it into shot like this.
I was giggling to myself every time I changed angle or zoomed out while shooting. :p
(Oh, by the way, I didn't bother with anyones everyday wear, just formal, so apologies if anyones simmies are dressed ugly, they won't be next chapter.)

And, if anyone can get where the name 'Winter Snow' is going, well done :D
