4:10 Perfect

Caution: Grab your sick buckets,
you're gunna need 'em.
(sickly sweet, picture heavy)

It seemed like moments since they'd met. Three days didn't seem long enough to spend in his arms, and she wished she could wake like this every day. It wouldn't work. She thought to herself as she carefully lifted herself off his chest to look in his eyes.

"Where are you going?" Winter asked. His eyes, those deeps pools that pulled her soul to his, watching her every move.

"Home." She smiled, moving to sit on the side of the bed. His arm captured her, halting her escape, and she leaned down to give the kiss his lips were begging for.

"Do you have to?" He sat up, and pulled her to him. She wished she could say no. She wished she could say here, in this hotel room, in his arms, forever.
"I have children to see, friends to save." She reminded herself as much as him. I said it wouldn't work. The voice at the back of her head reminded her. It was quiet, as if unsure. What if it would? Her own voice sounded.

She snuggled deeper into his embrace, wishing she knew what to do. Wishing she could stay a little longer, just to be sure. As if reading her thoughts, he moved closer, teasing her cheek with the tip of his nose, and planting light kisses on her jawline.
"You're only making this harder." She breathed, wishing she had the time to give in just one last time. One last moment, just to get him out of her system.
"Hard enough to make you change your mind?" His cold breath in her ear sending sparks over her body, exploding into goosebumps as they hit the surface. She sighed. They'd had this conversation before. Twice before, actually. Three days is all it was, all it ever would be. They both had lives to get back to, they didn't have time to make it work.
"No." She replied. It was evident in her voice that she wasn't sure herself, but she stood and began to get herself ready to leave anyway.

She decided to go for her almost-suit, she wanted to look like a frequent flyer living the high-life on the flight home. She was about to apply some makeup when arms encircled her. He ran an icy finger down her gently flushing face.
"You don't need make-up."
"I don't want people to ask questions about my face at the airport." She replied, remembering the outward journey.
"Let them ask. Let them know how special you are."

Agreeing to forget about the make-up, but taking a mental note to apply it in the cab or departure lounge before the flight, they left the room for the last time.

They smiled and made small jokes while walking the long corridor to the lift. Kaity knew that if they didn't she'd cry, she could feel the tears just under the surface.
Stop it, you idiot.

They arrived at the elevator at the far end of the hallway, and Kaity threw herself into Winter's chest while they waited. He didn't need to ask what was wrong, it was obvious. He just wondered why she was fighting it, why she refused to listen to what her heart told her.

"Miss Mattell, you didn't check into your suite..." The receptionist trailed off, and her confusion turned into a knowing smile as she watched the affectionate way the couple in front of her were behaving.

"No. I didn't need it." Kaity smiled as she stroked Winters cheek. He, without letting go for a second, handed back his room key, and they both signed out. This was it. It was over.

The receptionist turned her attention to another customer.
"Hey." Winter whispered, kissing a single tear away from her warm cheek.

The feeling of regret stayed with her as he carried her over the threshold. She vowed to never admit that she was having second thoughts, she was too stubborn for that.
"What's wrong?" She hadn't realised she was pouting, and Winter seemed concerned as he gently placed her on the tarmac.

She brushed a stray hair from his face and rested her finger on his lip. She didn't want to answer and was sure she didn't need to. They stood for the longest time, admiring each others features in the bright floodlights.

And then he kissed her.

She knew this was their last kiss, neither of them wanted it to end, and they clung to each other as if loosening their grip would end the world, as if nothing else in the universe existed.

Eventually, as with all good things, it came to an end.
"May I have your number?" He asked. One last try.
"I'm sorry. It's perfect now. It's perfect the way it is." Not wanting to let go, they shared a final desperate kiss. "If you're ever in Sunset Valley..." She trailed off, unable to form words as the lump in her throat took over her body, shaking her lungs until it was near impossible to breathe, ripping her heart from its mount in her chest, and throwing it to her stomach.
"If you're ever in Bridgeport."

4:9 A Freak Show

In a time before TV, there was imagination.
In other words, I'm too lazy for props, so pretend the
things I say are there are really there...

"Where the hell is my shirt?!" Kaity shouted to the air, annoyed that after emptying the contents of her bag she couldn't find it anywhere. Winter crouched beside her and tried to calm her down a little. This really wasn't her day.
"It must be here somewhere. Let's look again, and put stuff back in the bag while we do it." He suggested. It was more of a 'this is what we're doing' than a suggestion, but the tone in his voice was friendly.

"No. It's not here." She sighed, sitting back on her heel a little and thinking back to when she packed.
"It must be. Do you have another bag?"
"No." She sighed as she realised. "I was packing, nearly done, then Sophie started shouting in the nursary, saying Jaydean was biting her, so I ran in there. She wasn't, of course, it was a game they were playing, so I went back and I must've just zipped the bag up without putting in the shirts." The pair were silent for a moment.
"Do you want to borrow one of mine? It'll be a bit big, but you can tuck it in..."
"No. I'll just wear the waistcoat."
"Just the waistcoat with no shirt?" Winter questioned.
"Yeah. I don't care. You can pretend you've never seen me before if it's that embarrassing." She didn't mean to snap, but she wasn't in the best of moods and it came out harsher than she'd meant.

"Hey, don't be like that!" He sighed, moving her bag and it's contents to one side, crouching in front of her and lifting her face to look her in the eye. "Why would I be embarrassed of you?" Kaity sat in quiet confusion and shock, unable to think of a reply for what felt like minutes.
"Because..." She began when she thought she'd found an answer, but trailed off when she realised she hadn't.
"Exactly. Now, wear whatever and lets get some breakfast."

_____

Kaity hardly listened all day. She was sure whatever the speaker was saying would be informative and interesting, but she had way too much on her mind.

Thoughts whizzed around her head. It hadn't even been twenty-four hours since she arrived, but her entire world was different. Back home Shaena was a mess. Alex was where he belonged finally, but Shaena wasn't conviced. She thought about phoning Bonnie right there and then to see if she would talk to her, but decided against it when she realised Winter would run out after her. He actually wanted to go to this thing.

Winter. She thought. He's... Well... I don't know. He's kind, caring, friendly... She smiled to herself. Great at all the important things. She giggled, out loud apparently, as Winter turned his head slightly. Oops... She smiled to reassure him that she was listening. Even though she wasn't. He's smart, too.

She turned to look at him, and watched him listen to the speaker. Hot as well. She caught herself staring, and inwardly scolded herself. For goodness sake, Kaity! Don't let him get to you, it'll all be over the day after tomorrow and you'll never see him again, so don't get attached like an idiot.

Right. Face front. Listen. Learn. She honestly tried now, but the speaker was halfway through an explaination, and it made no sense without hearing the start. This blonde girl is wearing less than me. And it looks like she planned to, as well. I thought we had to dress smart for this thing? She looks like she's going out clubbing after.
I wonder if there're any clubs nearby?
Don't be stupid, this is Starlight Shores! Of course there's clubs!

Her eyes drifted to the row next to the one in front.
Is that the receptionist?! What's that bitch doing here? She's sitting next to that blonde guy...
Is he wearing a sack?! I should have just worn my normal clothes. The only person dressed smart is Winter.

Oh my god! That girl! She tried to stifle a giggle, but it came out anyway. Why is she dressed so bright?! And... Is that guy wearing cowboy boots?
This isn't a conference. This is a freak show. How do they expect me to concentrate with all this going on around me?

_____

After the days talks were done, Winter offered to buy Kaity dinner. The breakfast had been included in the hotel package, and lunch was a buffet provided by the company. Kaity readily accepted, not used to being pampered. This almost sounded like a date, and she'd never been on a date before.

"So, do you want to talk about this morning?" Winter approached the subject in a gentle voice, remembering how worked up she had been earlier.
"Not really. There's not a lot to talk about." She shrugged. "My cousin is an idiot, and her boyfriend needs to learn a lesson or two. I'll sort it out when I get home."
"How are the twins?" Winter wanted her to talk about something, at least. She clearly had a lot to process right now.
"Fine, they're with Rose now."
"Rose? Is she another friend?" He realised now that he didn't really know anything about her.
"No, she's my sister." She noticed Winters expression, a cross between 'tell me more', and guilt. "I have a brother too, Jake. We're triplets."

"Triplets?! Wow, so multiples run in the family?"
"Yeah." Kaity smiled at how surprised he looked. They really hadn't done much getting to know each other, so she continued. "I never knew my dad, I don't even know his name. I've never asked about him, never cared, and never missed him. I get my skin colouring from him, all the rest of me and both my siblings is from my mum or our grandparents." Winter listened intently while she explained the odd conditions she was bought up in, glossing over the reason Geoffrey had gone and reappeared. The media would whip up a frenzy if they found out about that, and you never knew who you could trust.

"So the twins are with your sister? Where's their father?" He asked dubiously. Kaity rested her face on her hand, and he immediately regretted asking about the father.
"It's stupid. I don't even know his name. He came round when I threw a party once, looked around the house at the pipes, and... It happened. Nobody knows where he came from, nobody ever saw him since." She was angry just thinking about it. How could someone just stroll in and do that to a teenaged girl? "Rest assured. If I ever see him again... Well, I'd be straight in that jail with Alex. Leaving the girls orphaned, so probably for the best that he's not made an appearance." She could feel tears starting to prick her eyes,

"Hey, you're right to be angry. Don't get upset." Winter reached out and gently took two of her fingers into his, stroking the side of her pinky with his thumb affectionately.
"I'm not upset." She retorted, starting to get angrier at herself for being distracted by his movements. "I'm angry that he just walked in, violated me, and then left my children to be raised without a father. I wanted more for them. Rose got pregnant at the same time as me, but with her boyfriend. They got married before their son was even born, and now they're this happy little family. My cousin, Luis, did it all the right way. He got married and then waited years to have kids. He had twin girls the same time as me, and I end up just leaving my twins with anyone who's willing."

She broke down. She shook her hand free from his and slammed her face into her palms.
"I love them, I really, truly, honestly do. I'd do anything for them, but sometimes I just can't bear to look at them. Sometimes I end up just going through the motions, pretending I'm your average good mother, but inside I just want to leave them with someone else. I agreed to come to this thing for a break from them, to get away and live life for a few days... I miss them. I miss them so much. I didn't think I would, but even this morning when you woke me up and I told you off for ruining my lie-in? I wished they were there, climbing on my bed and pulling my hair. Knocking things off the nightstand and ruining the peace. I wish they were here right now, and I wish they were old enough to understand how to use a phone. Even if I ring Rose-"
"Kaity." Winters reassuring tone cut her short. She was pouring her heart out to a total stranger, and crying in public.
"I'm sorry, I must look such a mess..." She didn't dare to look up from her hands. "Is everyone staring?"
"No, nobody's paying any mind." He gently tugged her hands from her face, and held them loosly in his own.

"Of course you miss them." He started. "They're your own flesh and blood. Everyone has those doubts you have, everyone wonders if they're good enough, everyone wants a break from time to time. It doesn't make you a bad mother." Kaity stopped listening at that point, enjoying his cold fingers locked with her own, and wishing he'd stop tracing circles with his thumb. She'd go crazy any moment. "...Am I right?"
Damn. I wasn't listening... How can I save this?
"Winter."
"Yes?"
"Let's go upstairs. I fancy an early night." Kaity winked to show him she had no intentions of sleeping.

4:8 Idiot

 Caution: References to violence

"Hey, Kaity, you need to wake up now." A gentle stroke on the cheek and a soft whisper pulled her from her sleep and into the real world. Morning. Actual morning, with light and everything, not like earlier.
"What time is it?" She moaned, not even bothering to open her eyes.
"Quarter to eight. The first talk is at nine, but I thought we could use some breakfast." Winter leaned down, planted a kiss on her cheek and mumbled into her ear: "I don't know about you, but I really worked up an appetite last night."
"I don't want to get up yet." Kaity yawned. She lazily half-opened an eye to glance at Winter and his reaction. He was just lying there, smiling.
"Why not?" Kaity closed her eye again, determined to stay on that bed as long as possible.
"This is the first morning in two and a half years that I've had the chance to wake up on my own. No babies screaming, no toddlers climbing on the bed, no shop to open. I want to make the most of it." Winter breathed a laugh and she smiled. "And you went and ruined that by waking me up anyway."
"Sorry." He stroked her cheek one last time, before rolling over and sitting on the edge of the bed.

Kaity groaned her disapproval loudly.
"Do we have to get up? Really?"
"Well, the whole point of us being here was to go to this conference. It seems a bit silly to stay in bed all day instead."
"Not really. Not at all. I don't even want to go, it will be boring."
"Why did you come, then?" Winter questioned. Kaity rolled onto her stomach and moaned into the pillow.
"Because I never think anything through, and just do it." She replied, propping herself up and stretching a little.

"Well..." Winter began, not really sure how to continue. "You're here now, may as well come down and learn something."
"Hmpf." Kaity sighed, wishing her stupid pheramones worked on him as they did on everyone else.
"I'm going to have a shower. Are you going to start getting up?" Winter spoke as if she were a child throwing a fit.
"Yeeeees" Kaity replied. "I think I'll ring Shaena first. Check my kids are ok."
"Shaena?" Winter questioned.
"My cousin, best friend, and free babysitter." Winter nodded before heading to the bathroom.

Slipping herself off the bed and recovering her phone from her bag, she saw she had two missed calls. One from Shaena, probably asking why she hadn't rung yet, and one from her mother. She couldn't work out why Taylor would be ringing, maybe Shaena had called her panicking about not being able to make contact, but she'd return Shaena's call first anyway.
"Hey hun, sorry I didn't call last night I was... Uh... Busy." Kaity smiled as she remembered the night before.
"Yeah, I figured." Her cousin's voice sounded tired on the other end.
"Are you ok? Did the twins keep you up?"
"No, yeah, I'm fine..." She trailed off, obviously debating on saying something.
"'No, yeah'? What's that supposed to mean?"
"Well, I didn't get much sleep, but it wasn't the twins. They've been perfect little angels, actually. Ate all their dinner and-"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm sure they were fine, so why didn't you sleep?" Kaity cut her off, a little worried at how evasive she seemed to sound.
"Well..." She heard Shaena sigh on the other end. "It was Alex." Her voice cracked a little.

"Alex? What's he done? If he's gone anywhere near-"
"Kaity, please, I don't need this." Shaena cut Kaity off this time, Kaity could tell she was fighting tears back.
"Just tell me what he did. I swear to plumbob I'll get on the next plane home and kill that-" She was shouting now, not caring how thick or thin the walls were.
"Kaity! Please!" Shaena's reply cut her off again, before she could think of a strong enough word to call Alex. "He didn't do anything, ok? It's not really your business anyway..."
"Are you kidding? Not my business? You're my best friend. You're family. You know how I feel about you being with him, and I think you know why. You need to tell me what he did or so help me." She was almost certain Winter could hear this conversation over the shower.
"As I said, he didn't do anything. He knocked on the door, but I didn't let him in under your strict orders, and I obviously couldn't leave the house because the twins were in bed. He just got a bit angry, that's all, ok?"
"'A bit angry'? What does that mean, Shae? Did he hit you?" Kaity was shaking with anger now. How dare he go anywhere near her house?

"No, he punched the wall. And no, he wasn't aiming for me, so don't get the wrong idea."
"I don't care if he was aiming for you or not. Did you call the police?"
"Not then, no."
"'Not then'? So he didn't go home? Just tell me the whole story before I hit you."
"Please stop shouting!" Shaena was audibly crying now. "I thought he did go home. I'd explained you not wanting him near your kids, so he just walked off, and I went back inside. It was a few hours later, I locked the door and went to bed. I heard this movement downstairs. I freaked out thinking it was a burglar or something, so called your Mum because... I dunno, I just did. I trust her."
"And it was Alex, breaking into my house?!" Kaity guessed, trying her best to keep her voice down as she'd been asked, but not doing a very good job.
"Just... Just leave it, Kaity."
"Leave it?! How can I just leave it? You realise you're never going to see him again, and you're moving in now, too. Don't go back there, I'll get your stuff when I'm back-"
"Kaity, I've got a customer, I have to go."
"No, just close up- Shaena? Shae?!" Sighing, she threw her phone onto the bed. She'd hung up.

Taking a deep breath, she hugged herself and tried to fight back the tears. She'd never been so angry in her life. She heard the bathroom door open, and covered her face to hide the tears that were starting to fall.
"Kaity? What's happened?" Winter sounded concerned, but she didn't want to turn around to see his expression.
"It's a long story. I'm going to call my Mum, ok?" Not waiting for a reply, she grabbed her phone off the bed and called Taylors number.
"Hey, Kaity. Have you-"
"Mum. What the hell? You only tried to ring once after all that?!
"Well, I-"
"It doesn't matter, just get me on the next flight home."
"No."
"What?! WHY?!" Kaity was sure her tears were evaporating she was so hot with anger.
"Well, for one thing, you're not letting me finish a sentance." She paused, waiting to see if Kaity would interrupt. "And for another, there's nothing you can do here. You need to stay there and find out all the answers you've always wanted. You'll regret it if you don't."
"Oh, and I suppose I won't regret not being there for my best friend?"
"Kaity, she wants to be alone. That's why I only called once last night. I didn't even let it ring much because she told me she didn't want you to come home yet."
"I don't care what she wants." Cutting her mother off again. "She's wrong. Just get me on that flight."
"No. I've arrested Alex, I'm taking as long as possible to charge him so he shouldn't be released until you're back anyway. She's in no danger. The twins are with Rose, after work she's going to stay at Madi and Geoffs'. There is nothing you can do. Just, please, attend these talks. You've always wished you knew more or could control it better, and this is the best way to do it. Plus, it'll be good for you to have a few days with no ties."
"But, Mum-"
"No buts. Have fun. I'm hanging up now. And, if I find you've come home early I'll... You don't even want to know what I'll do. Goodbye. Love you." She hung up, and Kaity once again, threw her phone onto the bed.
"Kaity...?" Winter didn't know what was going on, but even if he wasn't able to sense her emotions he knew something awful had happened.

He circled around in front of her and rested an arm on her shoulder. She buried her face in her hands and threw herself into his arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
"Hey..." Winter soothed, stroking her back as he pulled her closer. He held her while she cried for a few minutes, before she started mumbling into his chest. "I'm sorry, I can't hear you."

She pulled away from him, and wiped her cheek with the back of her hand. Winter looked very concerned.
"I'll try and shorten this, because it really is a long story." Winter nodded, and waited for her to continue. Composing herself a little with a few sniffs and a couple of deep breaths, she told him the story of all that had happened. Starting with the vision she'd had of Alex being violent towards Shaena, moving on to her lying about it, explaining the plate incident just a few weeks ago, and finishing with what she knew of last night.
"... So, basically, if I'd just told her about my vision at the start, none of this would have happened. It's all my fault. She's an idiot for staying with him. And I'm an idiot for not telling her in the first place."

Winter took her arm, making her look up to his eyes for the first time this whole conversation.
"You're not an idiot. And if you are, I am too. I'd have done the same."
"She doesn't understand." Kaity sighed, unable to move her eyes from his. "She knows I hid a vision from her, but she doesn't get it."
"No." Winter shook his head. "Nobody will ever understand. If they don't see the future like us, then they can't understand. They don't understand why anyone would keep something so big from them. I just hope your friendship is strong enough to get through this."

His hand flew up to her face, and he gently ran his thumb across her cheek in an attempt to calm her down and cheer her up.
"It is. The actual vision hasn't happened. The vision I had happened in warm weather, and it's been snowy since. Hopefully I can stop it from happening completely."
"I hope so too." Kaity stroked the back of his hand with her fingertips, enjoying the affectionate way he touched her. She'd never had someone touch her like this before, it was nice."This is what you were scared of?" He questioned. Kaity suddenly realised what he'd meant the day before. Why are you scared? She hadn't thought she was, but he hadn't meant in that moment. She must have been projecting her emotions onto him unknowingly. She'd have to learn to control that.
"I guess it was."
"We can stay here if you want." Winter spoke after a few moments of silence.
"No. My Mum would kill me. I'll have a shower and then we can get down there." Winter nodded, and Kaity stole a quick kiss before heading to the bathroom.

For those of you who don't know, I'm now taking part in heaven's fairytale contest over at Mod The Sims, so updates may slow to one a week for the next 10 weeks. I have a week off at the end of May, though, so hopefully I'll get loads done and have a few waiting :)

4:7 Hot And Cold

Caution: My heir is a slut
Mild sexual content, minimal clothing.

"Just kiss me." Kaity breathed. "Please." She begged. She barely remembered getting out the pool, wasn't sure what had been said. It all happened so fast. He'd pushed her off the lilo, she'd splashed him, he'd splashed back inadvertantly getting one of the people on the side of the pool wet, and this had eventually led to the pool being filled with people splashing and laughing. She remembered stopping and looking for him. She remembered the look he was giving her, and she'd clumsily swam over to see why he looked so serious.

He'd had a vision and wanted to forget. Kaity knew how to make people forget.

When he didn't respond to her pleas, she freed herself from where she was pressed against the wall, and spun him around so she was in control. Before she could join their lips, a bell sounded next to them, indicating the elevator was ready to take them up. She sighed and touched her forehead to his, before grabbing his hand and pulling him behind her to the awaiting lift.

He led the way down the long corridor to his room, and paused as he got the keycard from his pocket.
"Kaity, do you think-"
"No think, just do." She breathed as she reached up and finally joined their lips.
The cold of his lips was striking, and sent shivers down her spine. Even his breath was cold, and she wondered if she was hot enough to burn him as she teased his mouth with her tongue. Feeling behind him, he pushed the keycard into the slot, and pushed the door open. They almost fell through the door in their haste, and let it swing shut behind them.

He took over, pushing her against the wall just inside the door, continuing the kiss and making Kaity lose use of her legs and almost forget to breathe.

Sensing that she couldn't walk herself, he lifting her in his arms, never once breaking the contact between their lips.

Perhaps walking backwards with a girl in your arms wasn't a smart move on his part, on the other hand he could have meant to tumble onto the bed, giving Kaity control once again.

_____

Groggily opening her eyes in the early hours of the morning gave her a small shock when she realised Winter was awake and staring. His shoulder served as a pillow, and she felt she should have got used to his cool temperature after a night together. This guy stares a lot. She thought to herself as she tried to remember what had happened. She hadn't expected to be lying in his arms, especially not so close to him, and hoped she didn't have morning breath. Although, it was probably too early for that.

She sat up a little, and looked around for a clock, but not finding one she let her eyes fall back on his face. He hadn't let go of her, as if he thought she'd jump up and run off if he didn't keep a hold of her.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Just thinking." He replied.
"What's the time?"
"About four in the morning."
"Do you always lie awake thinking at four in the morning, gripping your one-night-stand so tight you might break her?" She asked almost-jokingly, but she really hoped he'd loosen his grip a little. He did.
"Sorry." Kaity shook her head, dismissing his apology, before climbing off the bed. "Where are you going?" He almost sounded worried.
"Only to the bathroom." She replied, worrying about how clingy he was as she left the bed for the bathroom.

Standing in the mirror she hoped Winter realised this was just fun and nothing serious. She didn't think she could do serious, especially if he was going to be all the way in Bridgeport. She also wasn't sure she could break a heart, although three days wasn't long enough to fall in love, in her opinion. She splashed a little water on her face, before drying it off with a towel and exiting the room again.

She threw herself back on the bed, wide awake now, she looped her arms around his neck.
"Where were we?" She grinned, pulling his head up a little for a kiss.
"Didn't you want to ask me something?" He asked, before she could press her lips to his. He definately seemed to be one to ruin moments.
"I don't know, do I?" She asked, exasperated, as she threw a leg either side of him. She didn't want to talk, she wanted to play.

"Yeah, you do." He replied, not moving her off him, but not doing anymore than rest a hand gently on her waist. She sighed, realising this was going nowhere, and sat back, letting go of his neck.

He kept his head about where she'd been holding it, still giving her his stare.
"Fine, what do I want to ask?" She worked to restrain her anger, remembering he'd had a bad vision of somesort last night.
"I don't know, I just know there's been a question on your lips since you met me." She gently ran her fingers over his toned stomach, tracing the familiar markings over his abdomen.
"This marking, the one over your stomach. It matches the one on my ankle." She hesitated, wondering if that meant they were somehow related and what they'd just done would suddenly be disgusting. She decided to ask anyway. "What does it mean?"

"That's my chi." He smiled at the confused expression on her face. "It's what helps me draw power. Mine is blue, because I draw power from water and ice. The closer I am to water, and the colder it is, the better my powers work."
"That's why you had a vision in the pool?" She asked, and he nodded a reply. "My chi is pink, what does that mean?"
"Well, I don't know for certain, but as they're the same shape, I'd assume you draw your powers from water too, but the colour would suggest warmer is better for you."
"I don't feel any different in water, though." Winter thought for a moment.
"Your other markings are very different." He mused as he reached for her arm. He traced his fingers over her white dragon.
"That tickles!" She giggled.
"Sorry. I think this one is the one that makes you so warm. It's a dragon, and dragons are synonymous with fire, fire is hot, and so I'd say this one controls your temperature. This one on my chest is my temperature control."

"What is it?" She asked, as she leaned in, tracing her finger around the outline and pushing her face up to his. It wasn't that this wasn't interesting, she just needed some physical attention as well as the emotional. He ignored her advances and continued with his explainations.
"It's said to be a lost cave system, but nobody knows where it was." He rested a hand on her shoulder to halt her advances. "The ancient tribes who first walked the planet are supposed to have flooded it when they migrated from the harsh cold seasons, and drained it as they returned when it was warmer. Turns of seasons passed and the tribes never returned. Without them tending to the lands, the deities froze the whole area until a time when someone else will return and tend the lands once again."
"So, you don't know?" Kaity asked, still trying to take in the myth. He breathed a laugh and she felt his cold breath brush her cheek once again.
"I guess not." She leaned in for a kiss, expecting the conversation to be over, but he started up talking, ruining yet another moment. "Your other markings are more feminine."
"I am a female..." She stated. She attempted a kiss again, but he turned his head a little. He wasn't done talking. This annoyed her, and she pushed herself to the end of the bed.

Propping himself up on one arm, he looked at her hostile posture questioningly.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Carry on. I'm a female, which means...?" A look flashed across his face before he could hide it. Concern? She wasn't sure, but he carried on explaining himself anyway.
"I'd say from your..." He puzzled over his wording a moment. "Personality, that they contain pheramones. I think without realising you secrete pheramones from your pores, and this is what makes you so... Successful."
"You mean I'm a siren? I drag men from every corner and force them to please me?" Slightly hurt, she turned away.
"No, that's not what I meant. You're an attractive girl in your own right." He started crawling the distance between them. "Beautiful, infact. But the pheramones you excrete make men lose control. I assume you don't have men throwing themselves at you until you choose to go after them?" He reached her end of the bed, and wrapped an arm around her, turning her face to his.
"No. I thought that was because I'm famous." Still hurt by the reasons for her past encounters.

"Isn't it better that they're not only doing it because they want to make the papers?"
"Not if it's because I'm putting them under a spell."
"They're not under a spell. I'm not under a spell. And I showed you yesterday that someone subject to your powers can still say no." He gently kissed her, and she decided to forget about it. Pulling back just centremetres from her lips, he continued: "How else would I know you were scared yesterday?"
"I wasn't scared, maybe you were scared."
"I know the difference, I've done my research, and it was your feelings I could sense." Kaity looked at him, considering asking more, but he was so close.
"Just kiss me." She demanded, and he did as he was asked.

I hope at least some of that made sense... I'm not even sure I understand and I wrote it! I'd be willing to attempt further explainations. Maybe she'll do some research?
Seriously though, let me know if that is too much to take in or too confusing.
(It has now been 12 hours since Kaity arrived at the hotel. I think I'm going for the longest 3 days in legacy history here...)
And, yes, Kaity does her nails and puts on all her jewelry in her sleep. I didn't notice until I'd already shot this, and I couldn't be bothered to re-do.
