4.33 Football

"Sophie! Hurry up!" Autumn banged on the door for the umpteenth time that morning. Why did teenage girls need so long in the bathroom anyway?
"I'll come out when I'm ready to come out. There's another bathroom downstairs! Use your legs for once." His sisters voice shouted back at him.
"But Jaydean's in there and she went in there after you came in here so she'll be hours yet. I really gotta go!"
"Well, go in a glass or something, I don't care." Autumn growled, frustrated, before running down the hall and banging on his mothers door.

"What?!" Kaity's sleepy voice sounded a little grouchy.
"I gotta pee!" Autumn shouted back.
"You're a big boy now, what's stopping you?" Autumn sighed. He didn't have time for this. He tried the door, finding it unlocked he burst in and ran to the bathroom. "Autumn!" Kaity shouted as the door slammed shut behind him.

"Winter, I'm not having this conversation. You're leaving in a few hours, I just want to enjoy what time we have left with the kids. Ok?" Autumn could hear his parents muttering as he washed his hands.
"Why do you always want to avoid the important discussions?" His dad didn't sound angry, but he knew his mum, and she'd take it the wrong way and flip out. Autumn to the rescue!

"What are we doing today?" He asked, leaving the bathroom and sitting on the end of the bed. Judging by the expression on his mothers face, just in time, too. They never argued in front of him, but he knew they did argue because Ellie could hear them through her wall.
"What do you want to do?" Winter asked, sitting up and patting the bed between himself and Kaity, Autumn took the hint and scootched up the bed to sit between them.
"I want to go to the summer fair!" He announced, lying back on the bed. "Ellie's grandad took her last weekend and she said it was really fun! They have rollerskating and water fighting!"

Kaity smiled and started running her fingers through his hair.
"Did you brush your hair yet?" She asked, touseling the knots out.
"Yes." Autumn lied, as his father lay back down beside him. "Can we go?"
"Don't see why not. You'll have to brush your hair first, though." How did his mother always know? "Do you want to see if Josh and Ellie want to come too?" Autumn nodded and rushed off to tell his friends. He knew they'd come too, they wouldn't leave him to spend the day with his moody sisters!

"Yesyesyes!" Elise danced on the spot in excitement. "I love being outside, and it's so warm today. This will be loads of fun!"
"Don't mess yourself." Josh muttered, and Elise punched his arm playfully.
"Oh, Tum, I forgot to tell you they had football there! Some dumb guy with a weird accent said it was 'soccer', but grampy told me I was right and it is football." Autumn pulled a face. Why would he have cared about that?

"Josh, you in?" Autumn didn't even really like playing with Elise all that much. They played around together because he'd get told off if he left her out, but he had far more fun with Josh. It was nothing against Elise, really, she was a nice person, but she never wanted to play the same games and what she did want to play was boring.
"Yeah, I'll get my mum to come too. All she does is mope around the house anyways."

_____

And so the Mattell/Lansing/McQueen household, plus Winter, headed down to the park to spend the day at the festival.

"Would you have fun like this in boring old Riverview?" Kaity joked, alluding to the town he'd be flying to that night.
"Probably not." He admitted, a grin spreading across his lips. "I travel for the peace and quiet."
"Hey!" Kaity reprimanded him, hitting his chest. "Your life would be boring if you didn't have me!"
"It wouldn't be the same, that's for sure." He pulled her into a kiss.

"Do you miss me when you're gone?" Kaity asked quietly.
"Of course I do! Why do you ask that?" Kaity shrugged, and kissed him again.

"You have to stop him from getting the ball in the goal!" Elise shouted.
"Yes, Ellie. I'm not stupid." Autumn replied, rolling his eyes. He turned back to face Josh, who'd placed the ball on the grass and was standing just back from it.

Josh shot the ball towards him at speed, and Autumn caught it effortlessly.
"Wooo! Go Autumn!" Elise screamed, jumping to her feet and dancing an impromptu cheer.
"Aww man!" Josh moaned, Autumn grinned and he and Josh swapped places.

"Ready, Soph?"
"I don't know if I even want to do this anymore, Jay... I mean, there's so many! I feel sick just thinking about it."
"Don't be a wiener." Jaydean laughed at her own bad pun.

The attendant sounded the claxon, and the twins, plus the guy who looked like a hotel employee, tucked in.

"Oh my plumbob..." Jaydean shouted, spraying half-chewed hot dog everywhere. Sophie refused to look up, she was sure her sister was just trying to distract her.

"Wooooooo!!!! Oh-Em-Pee! I did it!" Jaydean shouted, being sure to let the whole park know that she'd won the competition.

Almost a full minute later, the hotelier finished, with Sophie mere seconds behind, feeling rather sick,
"Aaah," Jaydean sighed, cracking her knuckles. "That was a sinch. Not even full." She boasted. Sophie rolled her eyes, and headed off to find the ladies room. The quicker she got those heavy hotdogs out of her system, the better.

Shaena looked up from her phone when she heard her cousin Rose shout an over-excited greeting to the accidental family gathering. Before her eyes made it to her cousin, they were distracted by Leighton. He was up on the grassy section, talking to some woman she'd never seen before.
"Shae!" Her name was called from behind her. She sighed, shook her head at Leighton and turned to the source of the shouting, her brother, Luis.

As the sun began to set, Josh, Autumn and Elise took to the skating rink with Lyris and Liana Lansing, Josh's twin cousins. The Lansing twins were closer to Jaydean and Sophie's age, but they didn't start high school for a few more weeks yet.

"Hey, I kept trying to talk to you but I could never get you alone." Leightons voice made Shaena look up.
"Oh, uhm.. Sorry, I guess?" Shaena stuttered, they were hardly alone right now, with the paparazzi hovering around Leighton.
"It's not your fault you're popular." Leighton shrugged her apology off. "How are you doing? I've not seen you for a few weeks." Shaena eyed the pap, who was now taking notes.
"Uh, are we ok to do this another time? I'm not really comfortable... you know..." She gestured subtly towards the paparazzo.
"Oh, sure, I barely even notice them anymore. Sorry. I'll see you around, then?" Shaena nodded, before heading to the skating rink to collect Josh.

_____

"I'm just saying you guys were so awesome at football, but I was the best at skating! You can't argue with that, because it's true." Elise reiterated her earlier statement.
"Sure, whatever El." Josh smirked, knowing how much the boys were winding her up.

Elise growled, exasperated, before standing and turning to her two friends.
"You know, I do like you both and everything, but I hate you as well." And with that, she stormed out of Autumns room, and the boys laughed as her heard her own bedroom door slam.

_____

"I don't want you to go." Kaity moaned for the hundreth time since they'd arrived home five minutes earlier. She threw the bedroom door open and sulked in, Winter breathed a laugh as he kicked the door closed with his heel and pulled her to him, squeezing her tight.
"You might have mentioned that once or twice." He mumbled into her hair.
"Your flight doesn't even leave for hours, why are you going so early?" She huffed, trying not to let the fact that she really wanted to turn around and kiss him get in the way of her mood.

"Because." He started, taking both her hands and kissing from the base of her neck, across to her shoulder.
"Winter..." Kaity squirmed a little.
"Because someone wouldn't let me go home these past few weeks, and I need to get some fresh clothes."
"I took your stuff to the laundrette for you when I did mine! I even paid." She scowled, trying to ignore his gentle kisses.
"I'm still down a few shirts, you stole one, and threw one out the car window-"
"I didn't! I told you! The laundrette must've lost it because I definately took it with me!" She tried to pull one of her hands free. "You might as well just keep all your clothes here, because you're going to spend every night you can here..." She muttered. Winter stopped kissing, and there were a few moments silence while they each waited for the other to speak.

When she didn't continue, Winter spun her around and pulled her close, staring her straight in the eye.
"But then what would be the point in me renting that room?"
"I guess there wouldn't be a point." Kaity breathed. Why was she so nervous? There was a pause again.
"Well, that seems a little silly. Why would I waste my money renting a room I'll never use if we both agree there's no point?"
"Winter..." Kaity sighed. "Why are you being difficult?" She began to pull away a little, and Winter caught her arm.

"I want you to say the words, Kaity."
"I can't."
"Why not? What are you scared of?"
"I don't know!" She whined.
"You know what my answer will be." Kaity sighed, and there was silence again. Winter was just staring into her eyes, waiting. He clearly wasn't going to let this go easily.

After a couple of minutes, Kaity huffed. Why hadn't he given up already? She took a deep breath to steady her nerves.
"Will you move in with me?" She whispered. Winter leaned in and gave her a quick peck on the lips as a reward.
"Yes." He replied, before pulling her close once more and kissing her properly.

"But I do have to go still." Winter mumbled, pulling back.
"I know." Kaity muttered. She couldn't seem to find her voice. She'd never been so sure of something in her life, but at the same time she'd never felt so nervous, excited and happy all at once.

"But when you get back..." Kaity breathed, trailing off.
"When I get back we'll move my stuff over." He quickly pecked her on the lips again, before pulling away fully to grab his suitcase.

I have no idea where Autumns tattoo- uh... markings are, but I did save him to bin with them, so I'll just have to transfer that version of him over before next chapter. Jaydean and Sophie's stockings, and Josh's outfit, were installed via launcher, and I forgot to reinstall all that stuff before playing. I'll add them back next time.
And no, I never usually use the word 'sinch', that's American. Most of you are from the US, and I didn't think you'd know what 'pimp-squeak', or 'pimpsy' meant.

Please don't hate me

*hides*

So... No chapter this week. Soooorryyyy!! Last time it was game issues, this time it's happy! Basically, I've been gifted my dad's old PC. It's too slow for him, plus he never uses it now that everyone has tablets instead, so I'm recycling it (something that I do alot, as my laptop is a hand-me-down from my sister).

He gave me it last weekend when we went to visit, my boyfriend set it all up (found a space in our tiny house and plugged it in) Monday, I then had to spend a few days going through it and uninstalling stuff (we don't have access to a windows disc, and so I couldn't just reset to factory settings, and there were no restore dates for some reason), which took longer than expected. Then Wednesday and Thursday was spent installing all the sims games (thank you, Origin).

I finally got to play on it last night, and it's soooooo smoooooth <3
Problem with it being so smooth, is that now I don't want to play on my laptop because it really is so bad, especially the legacy save. The problem with having to install everything is that I had to get the latest patch (no issues to report. Yet..), and not all mods are updated, and there is NO WAY I'm trying to shoot a legacy chapter without mods. Sorry!

But, looking on the brightside. I should be all set up by next week, and as this runs so smooth and without save-game errors (I played over 3 hours yesterday in Isla Paradiso with hardly any lag and no error 12s!), I should be able to shoot and play quicker, meaning I may be able to return to bi-weekly updates soon!

And, another happy note, I have a week off work in two weeks, so I'll hopefully get a little backlog again and then if any other game issues happen then I shouldn't have to stop posting. Hopefully.

While I'm rambling on (well done if you're reading this far!), I'd like to take the time to thank you all. I know, I know, cheesy. I know everyone says it, but honestly, I can't imagine ever making it past the broken generation one if it weren't for you guys! It's nearly been a year, and I will have a birthday present to give away if you'll just hold on a little longer! In the past (nearly a) year, I have made some amazing friends, learned so much about the game, the community and myself, surprisingly! I never imagined I'd get 35 followers and over 16,000 views, and I can't even begin to explain how happy I suddenly feel when I see someone has commented on a chapter (which is really sad, I know).

So, thank you, dear reader. Whether you were here from the start, only started reading today, even if you're reading this from the future as you're catching up! I love you, and you just being here makes my life all the much happier.

*tears up*

Ok, I'll shut up now.

TLDR; Sorry, no chapter this week because I have a new system that's taking longer than expected to set up. I'm an emotional mess and want to kiss you.

4.32 Wake Up

OMG WOOOOO!!
Sorry guys, I had total game failure, but it appears to be fixed now :D Sooo I'm back! Woo! Missed these guys SOOOO much you wouldn't believe! Don't know what I'll do when the generation is over!

Ok, so, you may remember there was an adulty bit last chapter? Well, if you didn't/couldn't read it, here's what you missed: Kaity said "I love you" to Winters face. The end. The only reason it was adult was 'cus she swore and said it naked... Promise... Ok, well maybe they did stuff too. Like, y'know, when a man loves a woman veeeeery much.... etc. Anyway. Back to the story!

Oh, please ignore the clocks in this chapter. Something's happened and they're all stuck at 12.00 *shrugs* oh well.

Kaity woke when her alarm very rudely screamed at her. She groaned, 5.30am had arrived again. Why did she ever think running her own business was a good idea? She moved to roll over and hit snooze on the alarm, when it turned itself off and an arm draped itself over her before pulling her close. Lips kissed her shoulder blade, and a second arm snaked its way under her head. Winter was back. She smiled and pushed herself closer to his cool body.
"Mmmmm." Kaity moaned happily. "Maybe Shae can handle the shop herself today..." Winter squeezed her a little tighter, before lifting his head slightly to talk low in her ear.
"But it's Thursday. I thought you always had loads of appointments Thursdays?" Kaity moaned and rolled onto her back.

"Way to ruin another moment, Winter." He smiled, and propped himself up on one arm, stroking her hair.
"What is it with you and your obsession with me ruining moments?" He asked.
"What's your obsession with ruining moments?" She yawned, closing her eyes.

"Kaity." Kaity opened her eyes. "You need to get up."
"I am." She replied.
"No, you fell asleep again." Kaity sat up slightly to look over his shoulder at the clock. 5.45am.
"Oops." She stated, not really caring, and let herself fall back onto the bed. "Are you working today?"
"No, I'm off 'til Monday now."

"Me too." Kaity lied, turning over and pushing Winter back onto the bed, pulling his arm around her and settling her head on his shoulder.
"I think you're lying." Winter accused. Kaity shook her head and snuggled further into him. "Yes you are." Winter poked the tip of her nose, and Kaity quickly moved her head and gently bit the end of his finger. "No. My finger." Winter spoke like a posessive child, and tried to tug his finger out of her mouth.

"Kaity?" Shaena's voice called through the door. "I didn't hear your shower come on."
"I'm getting to it!" Kaity moaned, and Winter pulled his finger free.
"Do you want me to get the twins up?"
"Yes please, I'm getting up now."
"Ok, I'm doing pancakes for breakfast. I figured you'd need the sugar." Shaena giggled as she spoke, and Kaity grinned.
"Extra syrup, please." She lifted her head and winked at Winter.
"Got it. See you in a minute."

Kaity yawned, before taking Winters hand from her shoulder and rolling herself over him until she was face-up on top of him with his arm wrapped around her chest.
"Kaity..." Winter warned. Kaity hugged his arm to her and made a little satisfied moan. "Come on. Up."
"I am up. I'm off the bed, aren't I?" She giggled, and Winter moved his free hand to her ribcage, threatening to tickle. "Ok, jeez, I'm getting up ok!" Winter smiled and kissed her temple, before turning onto his side so Kaity slid off him. Kaity begain trying to climb back on, shimmying around and generally not getting anywhere.
"Stop that before someone gets hurt." He muttered. Kaity sat up suddenly and twisted herself to face him.
"Oooh, is that a threat?" She leaned forward to kiss him, but before she made it she found herself on the floor.

Winter propped himself up on one arm, and laughed at the shocked expression on his girlfriends face.
"Hate to say I told you so..." He taunted as Kaity flopped back on the floor, legs still held vertical by the bed.
"I could be seriously injured here and you're laughing at me." She sulked.
"Nah, you're far too quiet to be injured." He teased, before offering his hand to help her up. She pouted before letting him pull her back onto the bed. Kaity grinned as she pushed him back against the mattress and lay herself on top of him.

She pulled back just millimetres from his lips and accused:
"Did you see that coming you psychic loser? I actually hate you. I hope you die and worms eat your psychic loser brains." She moved to kiss him, but Winters hand pushed her back.
"What did you say?" Kaity looked at him, and he looked shocked.
"I was only joking! You know that."
"No, it's not that..."

He quickly sat, pulled her as close as he could, and started furiously kissing her, pulling away momentarily to tell her that he loved her, before going back to kissing. Kaity was confused. Very confused. But right now she had the kisses she'd wanted, so she'd let it fly for a minute.

"I should insult you more often." Kaity grinned once Winter finally pulled back a little. "What was that about?"

Winter pecked her once more on the lips.
"The day we met, at the conference." He paused, and Kaity nodded. "I had an auditory premonition-" Kaity pulled a face. "As in, like a vision, but sound only. In that 'vision', you said that bit you just said about me dying and worms eating my brains. I was heartbroken, thinking that we'd never work out because of it."
"So you've spent all this time getting me to jump through hoops for you, even though you figured we were doomed from the start?"
"Not exactly, I-"
"And you told me it wasn't love at first sight, but you can't be heartbroken over the loss of someone you only met a few hours ago. And why would you drag me up to your room right after if you didn't want to get your heart broken? And-" Winter kissed her to shut her up.

"Ok, one, you can feel heartbroken when something you hoped might happen seems like an impossibility. Two, I seem to remember you were the one who approached me, and seduced me, and dragged me up to my room. And three, I thought it would be better to have what time I could have with you, even if it would end in pain. Pain like while I was in China and you wouldn't answer your phone." He ended, turning the conversation around.

"Yeah, well... I didn't know what to say! You always know what to say, and the words that come out of your mouth are what you wanted to say..." Winter smiled at her admission.
"I know. I understand. It just hurt that you wouldn't even text me to say you were ok. The only way I knew you were still alive was by asking how Autumn and the girls were doing."
"I'm sorry." Kaity apologised. Probably the easiest apology she'd ever had to do, and the most truthful.
"I know." He pulled her back for a kiss.

The sounds of two little girls racing to the bathroom reminded Kaity what she should be doing.
"Crap." She mumbled into his lips, slowly climbing off the bed and pulling Winter with her, not wanting to break the kiss.
"Kaity." Winter spoke into her mouth, pushing her gently away. Kaity stood, and finally broke the kiss.
"I love you." She smiled.
"I love you too." He returned, as she backed into her ensuite blowing kisses at him as she closed the door.

Sorry... That's kinda the end of the chapter, but please keep reading because I need to picspam and explain something.

Right. As you may have worked out (but I 100% understand if you haven't), the amount of time that's passed since the start of the generation doesn't match up with the real-life years I've been attempting to create.  The seasons don't matter, they last for ages in my story anyway. In story, it has currently been just over a year (lets say about 14 months) since Bonnie died and Winter came back, which puts the entire generation so far at about 2 years. Obviously, the kids have aged more than that, and in the interest of moving this along (as much as I don't want to leave my 'Kwinter' behind) it's about to get more confusing.

I've gone ahead and aged all the kids up. This took almost the entirety of last weekend (slow, temperamental game). Now. The ages have gone all funny in my game. Shaena is only 5 days into young adulthood, despite aging up, moving out, moving back in, getting pregnant etc etc. She should be around her adult birthday by now, but all my ages are borked.
The kids... Right, I had to do some maths for this. The twins aged to kids the day before the 'triplets'  (for ease of explaination) were born. Baby stage is 3 days, toddler 7 and child 7 too, so they should have aged to teens four days before the 'triplets' became children. I don't know what happened, but Sophie was 3 days older than Jaydean, and it was actually her birthday 'tomorrow'. Elise was 0 days into the toddler stage, Josh 2 and Autumn 5. So, I used MC and aged them all up. I figured if I've had enough time for all the toddlers to get their skills, it must have been long enough. I'm not counting this as cheating because it was a game error.

So! I now can present you with all the children, their traits, and their aged-up bedrooms. Sorry for all the rambling, please feel free to ask questions if some of that didn't make sense.

Bookworm, brave, friendly, computer-whiz
Sophie Mattell. She does still have wings, but they disappeared with my awful graphics. Winter was very excited about this one...

Genius, good sense of humour, friendly, never nude
Jaydean Mattell. You can now see that the twins aren't 100% identical, and look pretty much nothing like their mother (or their father, for that matter...)

Their room. Basically the same but decluttered and they got a nice full-sized mirror for all those teenage preening moments.

Absent-minded, good, friendly
Josh Farrah (No, not Joshua, just Josh.). He is by FAR the cutest kid <3 I can't work out whos features are whos, but I think the nose is Shae's, and the hair is definately Alex's. Purple tips? *shrugs*

Josh has a teeny-weeny room. 3x3 on the build/buy grid. Under the camera he has an ant farm. I'm yet to see if those are functional. Anyone know?

Couch potato, loves the outdoors, excitable
Elise McQueen. She's been knocked off the 'cutest' spot by Josh, but she's still a cutie.

Her room is really plain right now. The twins gave her the dolls house, because they don't want it anymore. I'm not sure what it's missing... I'll probably add some clutter and posters. Maybe some curtains as those windows look massive in this room for some reason.

Clumsy, grumpy. virtuoso
And finally, the heir to generation 5's throne; Autumn Mattell. He decided to ruin the shot by thinking, and I forgot to get another.
Random fact: Autumn is a genie, like his daddy. He also has secret-hidden fairy powers (without the wings!!!), and can go in the fairy house, fairy prank his friends, give fairy dust etc. Please don't ask me how I got him the powers without the wings, I think it had something to do with him being born a fairy, and me changing his lifestate as an infant. I don't even know if these fairy powers will last, but if they do... Cool!

And no, I'm not counting changing Autumn's lifestate as cheating, because I am sick to death of fairy wings spamming up my screen and all the pics I try to take. Am interested to see if he'll have any fairy children, though? That would be pretty cool, and I'd have to let Twallan know I found a new feature in his 'hybrid' mod.

Autumns room is the biggest, and so he has the little play area in his. I imagine the three children sitting in the beanbag chairs having tea parties with their toys. Teddy McGenieton (not real name, I forgot what his name is) is the waiter or something. Keyboard because he's a virtuoso. And maybe he might need the skill for later in life...
I have just got a children can play piano mod, but the skeleton my stretch to fit the animation. If so, I won't creep you all out with pics, but know that he does use it.

Ok, sorry for they very long authors note... Promise next chapter we'll spend a little time with everyone and you can get to know them. Next chapter may be late as I have a busy weekend this week, so will have to do it all next weekend, but hopefully will be back on track with weekly updates soon!

Thank you for reading all that gibberish! Please ask any questions you have. I know this is all very confusing and don't want anyone feeling left behind! I don't bite, honest!
